Moral Compass
by Estirose
c 2008
Trent was sure that being a superhero meant that he should have some kind of moral compass. At the moment, however, he felt like he was cast adrift without any kind of assistance, his father being Mesogog and the others not trusting him. He wanted to do good, but he had no clue on how to do it.
They were supposed to be a team. Supposed to be together. Supposed to keep that arrow straight. But he as an outsider, the one that had been evil, the one that had trapped Dr. O. The others had yet to forgive him on the level that he needed. Just because Dr. O had accepted him didn't mean that everybody else did.
So he was alone, wanting desperately to be part of the team, part of *them*, part of the group. But he wasn't, and he never would be. He would forever be cast adrift by that lack of compass, that lack of team, that lack of group, that lack of home.
Maybe someday he'd be accepted. Maybe. Someday. Hopefully. Right at the moment he could only grit his teeth and try to find that moral compass on his own.
