We should have seen it sooner.

Billy's never been one to disappear when we needed him. Even less since he just started working behind the scenes.

That is, until this whole gold ranger thing came up. Now, I realize that Billy might have perfectly good reasons for disappearing when he does. If only they didn't happen the same time the gold ranger shows up.

I wonder why nobody else has said anything about this. I know I'm not the smartest member of the team, so somebody besides me must have put two and two together and gotten five. Or six, as the case may be.

Or maybe they just dismissed the idea. Maybe I'm seeing something that isn't there. Maybe Billy's working on something else and is using this whole gold ranger thing as a distraction.

I don't think so. Yeah, he could just be tired from working on some new great invention, but he's been as tired as us lately. I would have loved to see him right after our fight with Somnibot. I remember the gold ranger getting just as knocked out as we were. Maybe, if he was as tired as we were, I could stop wondering.

He deserves the power, anyway. Every so often, you can tell that he misses his powers. Like the rest of us, he's addicted to the fight, to saving the planet on the front lines.

But he hasn't been complaining about it as much lately. That makes me wonder.

Tomorrow, I'll confront him about it, when the rest of the team is there. Then we'll know.

First I need a good night's sleep.
