Note: Takes place around “Leader of the Whack”.
Trent adjusted his backpack, knowing that he'd have to do something, get away. He knew he was a danger to everyone around him if he stayed, and so he'd packed and left. He hadn't, however, considered how long it took to get from place to place, especially when carrying a heavy backpack. It didn't help that he really wasn't sure where he was going, just that he had to get out of there before he hurt Kira or one of the others. Again.
He'd been damned ever since he'd touched that invisiportal and gotten captured by his gem. He felt its intelligence, its evil, and he knew that there was no way that he could get rid of it; he just had to go somewhere where he wouldn't hurt anybody if he fell under the gem's control. Not that it couldn't take his body and hike back, but at least he could inconvenience it.
It was indignant, and he grinned. Even if his life was without direction, out of control, he would make sure the gem would never hurt anybody, ever again, even if he had to end his life to save everybody else's. It was what a hero did.
