Summary: T.J. has insomnia.

Warm Cider

He awoke, and wasn't too sure where he was for a moment. And then he remembered. The ship. He was aboard the ship. For a moment there, he'd thought he was back on Earth.
T.J. got out of bed, got into his clothes, and went out. The ship was silent. His teammates seemed to be asleep. Maybe having a little snack would help, some warm milk, maybe.
"T.J., why are you awake?" came the voice from the bridge. It wasn't Alpha, or D.E.C.A. It was his teammate, Andros.
"I couldn't sleep," he said, and he thought he could see some understanding in the other's eyes. "You?"
"Still searching," Andros said. He didn't have to say what he was searching for. Everybody knew about him and his missing sister. Ashley had caught Andros sleeping on the bridge once. He tried to hide it, but he was obsessed.
"We'll find her, Andros."
"Thanks," his Kerovan teammate answered absently as he dialed up something on the synthetron. It beeped after a moment, and Andros removed two containers for it. "Here. It should get you back to sleep."
"You should, too. Sleep, I mean," T.J. said, taking a sip of what Andros had dialed up. It tasted a bit like apple cider.
Andros shrugged. "I will, soon. I just have a few more galaxies to go through tonight."
"*Now*, Andros. You can hardly rescue her if you're sleeping at the wheel," T.J. said firmly.
"I don't need as much sleep as you do," Andros answered. "I'll be fine, T.J.
T.J. yawned. "Excuse me."
"It's time to go back to bed, T.J.," Andros said, pulling T.J. up.
"But will you go, too?" T.J. asked.
He only realized later that Andros had never answered.
